60secondsdance.dk - SMD students in the top 10 finals!

"Birdcage" (2011) is a little screendance film, and a collaboration between friends for the 1 minute screendance competition 60secondsdance.dk.
The competition theme this year was the notion of "place", wether that might be interpreted as a geographical or emotional space, or a place of belonging.

Impro-jam at SMD
Friday the 8th of April, the 2nd year students at SMD arranged an impro-jam together with impro-teacher Poul Laursen. Everyone who was interested in contributing with their art form was welcome; dancers, musicians, actors, photographers etc.

INTERNATIONALT DANSEMØDE på SMD
Kære studerende, undervisere og tidligere elever og på Skolen for Moderne Dans, I inviteres til at deltage i 100 DANCERS, et nyt internationalt dansemøde og netværk. 100 DANCERS finder sted i Skolen's smukke lokaler på Holmen, og site specific events i København byrum i forbindelse med Metropolis Festival. 5 days 100 DANCERS dance meeting and conference on dance improvisation and new choreographic ideas
4 days 100 DANCERS site specific events featuring 100 international dancers exploring in city and harbor spaces
COPENHAGEN invites CI dancers, dancers and choreographers to participate in a new and compelling forum, network and performance project.
100 DANCERS is a meeting place connecting artists into improvisation, site specific works and cross media production.
100 DANCERS integrate artistic research and dialog with spectacular site specific performance in public spaces. The participants are dancers and choreographers who create or teach within the fields of improvisation, contact improvisation and performance work, also inviting musicians and new media artists to apply their own research.
The 100 DANCERS dance meeting is facilitated by the participants, kindly send us your proposals and ideas.
Public dance events will be created as collaborative works, an exchange between dancers, choreographers, musicians and new media artists. The artistic process is guided by Pipaluk, she's an experienced creator of large scale events.
To make 100 DANCERS possible, participation cost 70 € (500 Dkk)
included is :
+ amazing dance spaces
+ summertime, swimming and exploring Copenhagen sites
+ organized public events in international festival
+ luscious food, 9 days
+ basic sleeping
not included :
- your travel to/from Copenhagen
To apply for participation in 100 DANCERS, please send us a short email describing your interest in the 100 DANCERS project and your professional experience.
To book your place in the 100 DANCERS meeting and events, kindly deposit 70 € upon confirmation.
